I distinguish documented facts from inference and consider the information available to the treating team at the time. The sequence of symptoms, examinations, imaging, and treatment decisions provides the basis for the review.

I assess diagnosis and treatment decisions in the context of the clinical setting, available treatment options, and the applicable standard of care. This includes whether a treatment opportunity existed and whether delay changed eligibility.
Neurologic causation
Did the care affect the neurologic outcome?
I evaluate whether an alleged delay, missed diagnosis, or treatment decision contributed to neurologic injury, and whether different care would likely have changed the outcome. I consider the underlying disease process and the limits of what the evidence can establish.
